NEWS: We are truly saddened by the sudden passing of Ken Orrick. Ken and his group Lost Highway were great supporters and great friends of the Opry House. His wonderful voice, his infectious smile and his passion for bluegrass music will be missed.
NEWS: The Buddy & Tina Wright Group were invited to perform at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) awards in Nashville. Congratulations to this wonderfully talented group!
If you missed any of last year's festivals you missed some truly great music and fun! DO NOT miss 2009! Come join us for a great time, you will not be disappointed.
Hello Bluegrass Fans
Welcome to our website. We hope you find the information you want, but, if not, please e-mail us in the comments section above.
We have now completed two full years of bluegrass festivals at the Opry House. I hope those of you who have attended one or more have found them to be what you expected and were entertaining for you. We strive to have good shows for our fans.
If you have not been one of our attendees these past two years, we hope that you will be able to come out and help support this great music that we love. Our committment to you is to continue to produce fine music and have outstanding bands for the future.
Our festivals for this year are now set and completed and will begin the first weekend of June. you can check the schedule for the bands and dates for the spring and fall festivals.
You might note that Buddy and Tina Wright are back on the schedule for June as are Cedar Ridge and Star Canyon bands. Those of you who have not heard Midnight Flight will really like the style they bring to the stage.
In the fall Vern Young will be back along with III Generation. We will also have Hickory Hill for the first time at the Opry House. Also scheduled are the Shady Grove Ramblers.
With the economic times the way they are I fear that some will tend to "cut back" on some of the things that they normally do. It is our hope that you will see fit to keep us in your plans. It is a hard thing to keep a festival going these days; just think of those that have ceased to exist in the past couple of years. If we are to keep our great music going for the future, we must support it even when the going is tough.
Also before you sign off the web site, go to the sponsor page and check them out. These folks do a lot to keep us going with financial help and other ways too. Contact them and thank them for what they are doing for us. You don't know how much that will help us with those people. Drop a note or call or e-mail them.
Guess thats enough from me for now. See you at the festival.
